When I was a kid I always hated getting socks and underwear for Christmas. It almost felt like I was being punished for something. I knew my parents wouldn’t actually give me coal, but socks were the closest thing they could legally give me.
Now that I have reached the ripe old age of 40 I love socks. I actually go to a store looking for good deals on high quality socks. When I spend most of your day on your feet outdoors, mowing in the summer, and blowing snow in the winter I need something that will keep my feet warm and dry or cool and dry and most importantly padded and comfortable.
If you ever go on Reddit there is a forum on there I like called BIFL, or Buy It For Life, where they celebrate and recommend products that you can buy one and reasonably expect to last a lifetime. Who would have thought socks could fit in that category, but if you haven’t looked at Darn Tough Socks out of Vermont, you really should.
A quick warning, but one pair costs as much as a 12 pack of Walmart specials. Why do I like them, first they are padded and that helps my feet stay comfortable. Secondly the wool they are made out of doesn’t feel like wool, but it keeps my feet dry. Regular cotton socks make my feet stink, Darn Tough don’t and I have even worn them for three days mowing to test. But the absolute best reason is their life time warranty, if they ever wear out for any reason, you send them back in the mail and they mail you out a new pair, its that simple
When I first did my review on them, I had a couple of people mention they had used Darn Tough for the Appalachian trail and they lasted there. So if they can last there they can last anywhere, check out my review below, and if you would like to check them out more, go to my amazon affiliate link here as well.
