When I was younger I would laugh at the idea of a headlamp, I always thought they were geeky and basically pointless. If I had a flashlight what did I need to wear one on my head for? Then as I started getting more serious into preparedness and started having kids, I realized emergency lighting is seriously important and being able to have both hands free in the dark is nearly essential.
So I first started out with some cheapy dollar store headlamps I bought for 3 bucks a piece. They worked ok, they weren’t really bright, and they had a habit of breaking when you needed them the most.
So last Christmas my wife was looking for something to throw in my stocking and I told her I wanted to upgrade my Headlamp Game. We were at Canadian Tire and saw this rather bright Coast Headlamp on sale and picked it up. At the time I hadn’t heard of Coast Brand Flashlights before but as soon as I got this one I started seeing them pop up at all kinds of big box stores.
Not sure if this is a case of once I became aware I started noticing them or if they are really putting a push out there to promote their products. But each Coast Flashlight and Head Lamp I have picked up since has worked perfectly for me and exceeded my expectations.
Ever since i got this 615 Lumen Coast Headlamp I have looked elsewhere to find one as powerful for as cheap a price and I haven’t been able to find a comparable one yet. It just works, its super bright, it has a focus dial, its angle is adjustable and its built really well. Best of all if you keep an eye out the Coast 615 LM Headlamp comes on sale on Amazon quite often.
