One of the very first times I was asked for a product recommendation as a content creator, was on the Zello network. A friends teenager had helped out and painted some exterior trim, but had gotten some latex paint on the vinyl siding. I was so proud that I knew the answer and was able to point them in the right direction.
When I first started out painting I wasn’t as careful or as good at it as I am now. Hence I needed to use a lot more Goof Off than I do today. One of the first bigger paint jobs I did for a customer was painting over old stucco ceiling in their garage. We tarpped off as good as we thought we needed too, but it wasn’t even close to good enough. When I started pulling up the tarps I panicked, there was fine drops of paint in all kinds of places. I didn’t even know how they got there.
So into my favorite local hardware store I went looking for a solution. The ladies there always seem to know the right recommendation, and sure enough, Goof Off was the answer. You spray it on the paint, let it sit for a minute or two and wipe it up. It works great for both paint and stuck on adhesive, the longer you let Goof Off sit the better it works.
I like it so much that the other day when my daughter called and asked what to use to get the paint off her siding where she painted her stairs. I knew the answer but really didn’t want to part with my bottle of Goof Off, but in the end you know I did.
